[Samba] please wait for the user profile service... still

Hi all

I posted about this before but didn't get anywhere and am still having
trouble with it.

I've got virtual machines on a vmware ESXi host. One is running ubuntu
and is a samba server, the other is running windows server 2008 and is a
remote desktop server. The windows server is joined to the domain ok,
and users can log in. But logging in takes up to 3 minutes, displaying
the "please wait for the user profile service" banner.

Heres the profiles section of my smb.conf:

[profiles.v2]
   comment = Users profiles for Vista and Windows 7
   path = /home/samba/profiles/%U/%U.pds.v2
   browseable = no
   profile acls = yes

Seems I've made a bit of a mistake by making the windows partition
smaller than the linux partition, as the profile dirs in windows are
bigger than my profile dirs on the samba server. One for example in C:
\users is 100mb, but in /home is less than 10mb. My thinking was that
the main data would be stored in samba :/

I'm not quite sure what is happening during the "please wait for profile
service" message. Is it copying profile data from samba to windows? As
mentioned above theres less than 10mb and its only copying from one
virtual machine to another on the same host.

Theres a number of errors in event viewer but i'm not sure which ones
are of any use. Heres one thats listed in the remote desktop services
view:

The terminal server cannot register 'TERMSRV' Service Principal Name to
be used for server authentication. The following error occured: The
specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.

any advice?
