[Samba] libnss_wins.so problem

Whenever I attempt to use the "wins" parameter in nsswitch.conf :

hosts:       files dns wins

problems occur.

For example If I ping a host that is registered in WINS and not in DNS I get:

$ ping test
Aborted

Same result for a nonexistent system.

Also managed to catch this error:

[1264079.912159] dhcpd[11082]: segfault at 21 ip b7215edb sp bfc95604
error 4 in libnss_wins.so[b7012000+2af000]

This is with samba-3.5.1 on Linux (glibc-2.11).

Any clues?
