[Samba] Multiple instances of /usr/bin/smbd -D

There's smbd processes in process state D. Do they stay
there for extended periods? Can you kill those with "kill -9"?

If you can't kill those with kill -9, it is likely that you
have a hardware or kernel problem. You might want to check
your system logs.
