Iarly,

If you need detailed print jobs accounting, you'll need a print server
-- with Samba, the most probable choice would be CUPS and maybe
PyKota.

If you only need page accounting (with no user information, however),
you could use SNMP to query the printer or your printer's web page
(most network printers have one).
