Before I did that, I'd get Bad User/Password errors on the windows
server.  At least now Windows sees it working.  

It seems like my problem is that CIFS authenticates against the w2k3
share, then the login times out before it completes the mount.  I see
both a login and logout on the windows security log.  Could CIFS have a
TTL option that is set too low for me?
