[Samba] Very Slow!

Have you tried looking into some of the NIC jumbo frames, flow control 
and checksum settings?

Look at the window client settings for:
-Tx/Rx Checksum Offload Disabled
-Flow Control Enabled
-Jumbo Frames Enabled
-Large Send Offload Disabled

Your results will very depending on your switches and network cards.
