[Samba] Winbind partial data

Hello All

got a nasty problem that has reared its head this morning.

Windows 2003 ADS controller.
Samba 3.022
Ubuntu 6.06LTS

getent passwd returns users but not all of them.
I am missing a couple of hundred.
Also if i add a new user they do not appear in getent. however they  
all show in in wbinfo -u.

Has anyone seen this before?

I am really up against it with a school full of kids returning tomorrow.
