[Samba] Question about tdb files

Hi list

I'm running a samba 3.0.24 with an ldap backend and as a print server.
The server is also serving printer drivers for my Windows clients.

If more information is needed please let me know.

I have a question about tdb files.

Some of my tdb files haven't been touched since my installation in
december 2005 and I'm thinking if this is something I should consider
critical or not.

And in case something is wrong, could someone point me in the right
direction of what I should do or consider?

The last 2 months I have had a problem with samba loosing my printer
drivers for my clients from time to time, and now I'm wondering if this has something to do
with the age of the tdb files. As well as the driver, the description is
lost too. Very strange.

To be honest I haven't been able to find some 'clear' information about
the tdb files. Just an overview I would say. I would really like to know
how it all ends up. Especially when using ldap as backend.

What about the domain policy as an example? I tried to change some values in my ldap,
but this doesn't seem to work, is this because account_policy.tdb is
used? I tried to do some changes with pdbedit but no changes in ldap,
and apparently no changes in account_policy.tdb. As an example I tried
changing the password history.

I hope someone can help me out.
