[Samba] 3.025b tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED

I am trying to use new samba and having problems.

# smbclient //sambamachine/shareweb -Uusername
Password:
Domain=[MYDOMAIN] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.0.25b]
tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED


I noticed this in the log:
Checking password for unmapped user [DOMAIN]\[username]@[CLIENTMACHINE]
with the new password interface
[2007/06/27 10:15:21, 2] auth/auth.c:check_ntlm_password(309)
  check_ntlm_password:  authentication for user [username] ->
[username] -> [MYDOMAIN\username] succeeded

any idea?
