The Linux server claims to be in log.nmbd.
This is odd, however. While Googling for a way to check if Vista was
trying to become the master browser itself, I stumbled upon a blog which
suggested changing the "LAN Manager Authentication Level" from "NTLMv2"
to "LM & NTLM" to fix authentication problems.
Though I don't have any authentication issues I went ahead and changed
this setting anyway. Browsing is fast again!
I'm not sure if this is permanent (or why that setting would make any
difference) - but let's see how long it lasts.
