If you're uncomfortable with git, you might look at 

rsync samba.org::ftp/pub/unpacked/samba_3_2_test

But git is really worth it :-)

Sure. A plain patch is also fine. But it will be up to you
to make it work with 3.2 anyway at some point :-)
