[Samba] Occasional cache-related problem

I'm having troubles diagnosing a problem with Samba 3.0.10-1.4E.11 on a 
RH EL4 server which is causing Apache/PHP/MSSQL to stop working properly 
on a Windows 2003 Server (which uses the Samba server for file storage 
and network printing).  It kind of looks like the file handles are 
running out on the 2003 box, but there are absolutely no error messages 
on either box.  The only clue is that print jobs don't clear from 
various printer shares (in Samba) once they have finished.

Every 1-2 weeks, I have to stop Samba, delete the entire 
/var/cache/samba directory start Samba and reboot the 2003 server.  I 
have not found a way to force the problem either.

What might be causing this?  Where should I look and what should I look for?
