[Samba] Mac can't connect to debian after upgrade to Samba 3.0.23

I have a debian box with latest samba.
I've tested with both security = user and ads and I can connect from
Mac Os X tiger to either of them.
Could it be the smb implementation in panther?

cheers,
hernik
