[Samba] Trouble with Homes

If you are integrating the samba server into a windows domain, you might want to try setting the valid users line like this: "valid users = %D\%S"

that was my problem until I did that.

----
try putting a valid path that the users have write access to their
home...

[homes]
        comment = Home Directories
        path = /home/samba/homes
        browseable = no
        writable = yes
        valid users = %S
        create mask = 600
        directory mask = 700

# ls -ld /home/samba/homes
drwxrwx---  2 root dom_users 4096 Jun 23  2003 /home/samba/homes

maybe even get crazy enough to create directories in /home/samba/homes
for each user...
