The easiest way to search the archives is to goto:

http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/

And scrolling down until you get to the Samba portion. You can click on a 
mailing list, and then run a search on it. Many, many mailing lists are 
there, so it's really a great resource for sysadmins. HTH.
