Thanks, but I've tried that already, too (I forgot to mention).

I have tested with the following settings:

a) socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192
b) socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_SNDBUF=65536 SO_RCVBUF=65536 IPTOS_LOWDELAY
c) socket options = TCP_NODELAY


Neither one showed any significant improvement in
performance and file access patterns did not change in
any case, too.
