[Samba] Joining domain with W2K SP1 fails

After a fresh re-install of a W2K workstation I noticed that it is
impossible to join a Samba domain (3.0.21a).
"Wrong credentials" is displayed and the log gives:

libsmb/smbencrypt.c:decode_pw_buffer(514)
  decode_pw_buffer: incorrect password length (959351032).

With SP4 all is going fine.

It should be not a problem nowadays, I just want to report it.
