[Samba] trouble printing from Win9x clients

 yes we use a spool file.

Print command... since we customized the print system so much it is
complicated to get the print command and in most cases it will be no sense
command for people outside the company. The basic idea is that when printing
through samba we send raw data straight to the printer. Samba is used to
just redirect the data.

Are you printers configured to print to spooler first then print ?

What does your print command look like?
