The db file  /usr/local/samba/var/locks/connections.tdb doesn't exist on
Solaris8 server.
also the samba user is nonroot user.i meant the user that is mounting from
solaris8 server to linux server.
The filesystem mounted from solaris8 server to linux server is writable by
the nonroot user on the linux server /etc/fstab credentials=rw

Check your log file also for errors initializing the file, I
presume that there should be some mention of it.   which file????

Well we know this isn't the case, you obviously have clients connected
by your background info.  Can you check that the directory structure in
question exists and that it is writable by your samba user (root I
presume).  Check your log file also for errors initializing the file, I
presume that there should be some mention of it.

We should keep looking for issues until you get output like so: <massive
