It looks fine once you shrink the fonts so that they fit easily within
20 pixels.  The problem is that the height is _restricted_ to 20
pixels.  As soon as the font is bigger, the menu items will overlap.

To see the effect, try elarging the fonts beyond 20 pixels by pressing
Control-+ a number of times, and then look at the menus on the left.
That is the way it has always looks to me, since my display is
1920x1440.

In fact, many of the web site items are restricted to absolute
dimensions rather than relative dimensions, which tends to make the
site work okay when the screen size is at a particular size, but not
when it is very large or small.  The particular problem with the menu
on the left occurs when the display font is bigger than the size the
designer person used.

I have not tried the web site in Internet Explorer.
