[Samba] Samba on AIX

How did you download it, to have the filename come out that way?

I seem to recall some situations in which a .tar.gz will come out named
.tar.tar.... but I can't remember which. My memory wants to say that
downloading via Internet Explorer will do this, but I could be wrong.
