[Samba] Change password from member server

I've god a member server that is going to host some userscripting, one 
feature which will be to run the smbpasswd -a command automatically.  My 
question is what config options do I need to configure for this machine 
to be able to change passwords and such?  I've only had to do this on 
xDC machines previously, so it always works, but this machine is to be a 
simple member box.

I'm using an LDAP backend, so do I need to configure the idealx package, 
at least in as far as adding the passwd parameter and script?
