You might need to try 'use client driver = yes' then.  You should
probably get a level 10 debug log and look for ACCESS_DENIED
as a hint to what might be failing.

My only advice is that using point-n-print frequently makes
Windows clients happier machines, since it is normally
impossible (with one exception) to have a printer without
a driver install on a windows print server.
