This is the contents of my browse.dat file
"PROXML" c0001000 "PROSERVER" "PROXML"
"PROSERVER" 400d9a03 "Samba Server 2.2.8a" "PROXML"
"PROXML" 40009a03 "Samba Server 2.2.8a" "PROXML"
"SERVER" 40009a03 "Samba Server 2.2.8a" "PROXML"
"XAN3PORV254" 40019a03 "Desktop" "PROXML"
The global settings of smb.conf are
encrypt passwords = yes
workgroup = PROXML
security = share
netbios name = PROSERVER
os level = 20
netbios aliases = ProXML server
server string = Samba Server %v
wins support = true
domain master = yes
local master = yes
preferred master = yes
name resolve order = lmhosts
hosts deny = all
Here only PROSERVER is used.
Where do the two other names come from and how can I suppress those?
I'm on Mandrake 9.2.
Paul
