[Samba] Samba 3.0.7-1 on Debian Problems connecting

Hi there,

Following the instructions at

http://us1.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/FastStart.html

I have configured my Samba server for anonymous read/write.   Using 
WindowsXP SP2 to try and connect it all works fine apart from the fact 
that when I try to run something from the share it locks up and is very 
slow.

Also when I try to browse the share it still asks me for my password 
which I don't want to have to do.

Any ideas as to how to stop it slowing down and getting it not to ask 
for my password?
