With due respect, a comment like this does not help anyone to solve the
problem. What is far more helpful for someone who may be able to offer
assistance is clarification of:

a) Your configuration information. From this someone may be able to see things
that are not as they need to be. That may help you to find a solution.

b) Description of the documents/guides/books/howto's that you have made
reference to. Much of the samba documentation is out of date. Some public is
incorrect or is based on faulty assumptions. It is useful to others on the
list to hear explicitly which guides work and which should be avoided or
corrected.

So to get the ball rolling, which chaptes of the Samba-Guide have you
followed? You can obtain this from:
http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/Samba-Guide.pdf

This can also be purchased from Amazon as the book "Samba-3 by Example"

If the examples in this book are wrong, misleading, or do not work we have to
fix them. If they are inadequate, we must make them adequate. Documentation
is never better than the sum of knowledge of those who contribute to it. :)

Cheers,
John T.
