[Samba] samba replacement of windows 2000 advance server

HI,

I am new to samba world... i having windows 200 adv server as domain with many policies on computers which are in domain like desktop policy user can not change there desktop tcpip proerties etc... is it possible to do the same in samba??? or any other unis server.... if yes please guide me with document....
