Hi all, I seem to be having some weird problems while trying
to add a workstation to an existing domain. Samba 2.2.8a is
running on FreeBSD 4.8-RELEASE-p17 and all the clients have
Windows 2000 Professional with SP4 installed.

This particular workstaion was part of the domain until its
hard drive went under. The drive had to be replaced with a
new one, the OS was installed and now when I try to add it
to the domain I get the following error in Windows 2000..

The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "TEST":
Login failure: unknown user name or bad password.

The username and password are the original ones which were
previously being used so I know they are valid. This is
what is in the Samba log (with 'log level = 3')..

Nothing has been changed in the Samba server's configuration
file since the workstation's hard drive crashed. The smbd
daemons are running as root and /usr/local/private/smbpasswd
is owned by root as well. Anyone have any input?

Thanks,
Avtar Gill
