Hi

I need help on this one, My main problem is that I do not know
anything about networking and therefore I'm lost.

A rough outline of what I have (No Windows):

Domain/workgroup = STARTREK

Machine 1 named "Hal", PentiumPro 200 128MB RAM  IP-192.168.2.37
Running OS/2 Warp 4.0 FP10 (also dual Boot eCS 1.1, seldom used)
3COM 10 MHz NIC
IBMLAN 'peer 2 peer'

In between:
SMC 'barricade 7004BR' 4 port Hub/switch/router  IP-192.168.2.1
Output to a cable modem.

Machine 2 named R2D2, AMD
Athalon 1GHz 512 MB RAM  IP-192.168.2.10
Running Mandrakelinux 10.0 OE (also dual Boot Mandrakelinux 9.2)
3COM 100MHz NIC
Samba (3.0.2a)/ LinNeighborhood

The problem, I believe is software configuration.

I have been thru Mandrake (samba) in the last couple weeks and
can ping either machine or the router by IP address or by name.
In Mandrake I have 2 folders set up that should be visable in
OS/2 Warp.

The most recent error message is in OS/2 "NET2453 - The domain
controller for this domain cannot be found". OS/2 Warp 4 was
installed when it first came out (1996 ?) and has been upgraded
thru several fixpacks since then FP10 being the latest. This is
the third machine it has been on, always moved by tape (backup).
About 5 or 6 years ago Win NT was networked with it,so there
maybe incorrect entries and/or no entries in some places that I
still haven't found.I have 2 partitions in the Shared Resources
and Connection area that should be available to Samba.

Can I recruit anyone to act as a coach/ ? /consultant? After I
get the network up I would like to put my printer on the
Barricade, now it is on a A/B switch

TIA
