I don't know if that is true, users of the tdb-sam probably ask a lot less 
questions.

1) It also solves alot of other problems
2) make integration of disparate application easier
3) Redundancy / Replication
4) Flexbility (partitioning, proxies, rewritting, etc...)
5) Scalability
