[Samba] Mounting Greek lang XP shares

Greetings to the list,

This is my first posting, so bear with me, please.

I am running SuSE 8.1 with KDE 3.1.3, locale el_GR.UTF-8 and samba 3.0.0 from 
SuSE, and am trying to mount a share from a XP machine with Greek filenames. 
As you can see below mounting without any parameters (samba 3 is supposed to 
support Unicode right away) does not produce any readable output. using 
parameters iocharset=utf-8 or iocharset=ISO8859-7 is as unreadable but 
different... 
However, I also use smb4k as KDE frontend for mounting. There the mounts also 
fail, but when I choose "preview share" (instead of mount ) I can see a 
directory listing in a KDE window with correct Greek filenames. subsequent 
mounts fail again.

Any ideas or proposals?
