Hello,
I finally got the to migrate our home and shared servers to samba
3.0. I'm now in the conceptual and planning phase trying to figure
out how and what kind of ducks i will have in my row.... I am fairly
familiar with prior versions such as 2.x but I have been deprived
since I haven't had the chance to fully investigate 3.0. Blah blah
blah.....
The first thing I am testing here is sambas ability to use
existing NT groups (and future ones i presume) to authenticate or
restric access to resources. So, for example, since my shared folders
aren't meant to be readable by other groups I had to use group rights
under NT. How can I accomplish that with Samba. I guess I really need
to know if it is doable because I've been trying all day now and
haven't come across the magic entry....
Currently I have a test box hosting both home and group dirs.
I have been abusing my guinnea pig from the helpdesk all day and have
mad no success. Below is my smb.conf
