If you are having any printing issues and upgrading from 3.0.2a
to v3.0.3 or later, please read this:

Prior to Samba 3.0.3, Linux system were incorrectly tagged
as using BSD printing by default even if cups support was
detected. Ironically, this was correct for many systems that
had the cups-devel package installed but still ran lpd.

Samba 3.0.3 and later will set "printing = cups" as the default
if we have detected that cups support is indeed available.
This test does not include whether or not you are using the
cups server.

You can check if this is the case on your system by running

	$ testparm -v -s /dev/null | egrep '(print|lp)'

To disable the check at compile time, add --enable-cups=no to
your configure options.

To override this at run time, make sure you explicitly
set the printing parameter in smb.conf.

And please be aware that the printing option should
work correctly on a per service basis as the documentation
states as of 3.0.4.

Hope this helps someone.
