[Samba] Maximum number of shares

The largest number of shares I have seen is around 300 plus about 50
printers. It ran Ok. Coming to think of it, I never listed them so I do
not know how that would go. The site ran Ok.

How many shares do you need?
Why do you need them?
What happened to keeping things simple?
