This is redhat-specific :-)

The goal is to make the ldap-users available to the system.

This is normally done by the pam_ldap and the nss_switch-packages.

Maybe Suse has another Tool for this - if not - you have to identify
and install these packages.

You need the package nss_ldap and pam_ldap for unix authentiction.
look with yast for this rpm?s !
