[Samba] Samba 3.x + LDAP starting point help

Recently we have decided to move to a central authentication server
running LDAP.  I figured this would be a good time to move to Samba 3.x
as well.  I just started to grab as much info as I can on LDAP+SAMBA can
anyway recommend any docs?

Also do I need to re-compile to add any additional options?
My setup is 
172.16.0.15  ldapserver
172.16.0.20  samba server
