Have you read the Samba-HOWTO-Collection.pdf? It's available from:

	http://us1.samba.org/samba/docs/Samba-HOWTO-Collection.pdf

Chapters 33 and 34 may help you - after you have read the chapters on
"Server Types and Security Modes", "Network Browsing".
