This is how my smb.conf looks like:

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
[global]
  workgroup     = MMS
  dead time     = 15
  invalid users = root dispatch
;  debug level   = 20
;  hosts equiv   = /etc/nt.equiv
  log file      = /usr/local/samba/var/log.%m
  max log size = 1000
;  password level = 1
;  password server = %m
;   security     = USER
  time server = True

[opnscvrd]
  comment = DISPATCH CVRD operations directory
  path          = /dsp/cli/cvrd/opns
  read only     = yes
  share modes   = no
  locking       = no
  public        = yes
  guest account = mms

[install]
  comment       = Install
  path          = /dsp/sh/install
  read only     = yes
  share modes   = no
  locking       = no
  public        = yes
  guest account = mms

[examples]
  comment       = DVF examples
  path          = /mms/dvf/examples
  read only     = yes
  share modes   = no
  locking       = no
  public        = yes
  guest account = mms
