We use Samba 3.0 in combination with osx 10.2.8 (jaguar) clients.

The only problem we have is working with files on the server from Quark 6. All
other apps. work smoothly. From time to time Quark is having problems to save
the file. The result of a save can be: File corruption and data loss, Crash of
Quark, error 'cannot save to server' combined with the disability of saving
locally -> data loss.

Is there a known Setting of Samba parameters to match the needs of the (special)
saving procedure of Quark 6 (e.g. file locking related settings)? Who knows
about Quarks special way of behaving (what is makes this program so touchy)?

Is there hope for remedy using Panther with a newer samba version?

Thank You,
