[Samba] compile failure on 3.0.0 and 3.0.1pre3

I have installed Suse on an IBM as400 (powerpcc).  

This is SuSe 8.0
gcc 3.2
and with both samba 3.0.0 and 3.0.1pre3

I get this error message on the compile. (configure runs fine.
