[Samba] Linux - Windows samba problem

I'm running samba server on a Linux Intel machine with Redhat 7.3, Samba 
version 2.2.7. I have exported couple of directories for windows users on 
that server. What happens, that user stores files to the shared drive on a 
windows and he can't see them afterwards. I checked the permissions, and 
they look ok. If user goes to the DOS, he can see these files, which he 
couldn't see before. When I restart the samba service on Linux, all files 
will become visible.
Has anybody came across with something similar before?
