Dear all,

I don't know how to start to state my problem. But I'll try my best.

The problem did not exist in 2.0.X & 2.2.0.

Recently I upgrade samba to 2.2.8a. Problem exist.

1. I can start nmbd -d 5 -i & smbd -d 5 -i.

2. If I run 'smbclien -L <server name>' (itself)
   smbclient ask for password
I type enter for null password
smbclient get the service list from the server.

But, smbd cause server exit (normal exit).
the last part message is from the smbd is
'end of file from client
setting sec ctx (0, 0) - sec_ctx_stack_ndx = 0
change_to_root_user: now uid=(0,0) gid=(0,0)
Closing connections
setting sec ctx (0, 0) - sec_ctx_stack_ndx = 0
change_to_root_user: now uid=(0,0) gid=(0,0)
rainbow (127.0.0.1) closed connection to service IPC$
Yielding connection to IPC$
setting sec ctx (0, 0) - sec_ctx_stack_ndx = 0
change_to_root_user: now uid=(0,0) gid=(0,0)
vfs_ChDir to /
Yielding connection to
receive_local_message: doing select with timeout of 1 ms
Server exit (normal exit)'

3. I restart smbd -i -d 5
Use WinXP to browse the samba server.
WinXP can browse the server without problem.

Now, I use 'smbclient -L <samba server' (itself) again
smbclient won't get any response from samba server.
smbd session won't show any message. It seem smbd really does't get
   any request from smbclient.
4. smbclient & winME having the same problem as above.

Any hints? Thanks.

Chris
