[Samba] ls -l hangs!

solaris 2.8, Samba 2.2.8a
wbinfo, winbindd everything is working fine.
But when I create a file on a Samba share and go to Unix and do a 'ls -l' it hangs.
I guess it is trying to get the user/grp info for the winbindd uid at this point.
Doing a 'truss' shows it hanging at 'door_call()'. This applies only for host lookups, right? Why is 'ls' doing
a hostlookup at this point?
I also disabled the 'nscd' daemon on the box to eliminate this possibility, but 'ls' still hangs. I am going
nuts!
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
