Hi
what I did was follow the howto at
http://www.freebsddiary.org/samba-pam.php and mistoke the
samba auth required pam_mysql.so user=root passwd= db=samba_auth
table=users usercolumn=login crypt=1
the mistake was that I didn'y specify a password and left the passwd=
variable, I afterwaords removed passwd= and everything worked.
Actually samba didn't crash, it kept on running despide the internal error
message.
my gobal parameters are
# Global parameters
[global]
workgroup = Kadnet
netbios name = OF23SM4
server string = Rasmus Nielsen
security = USER
#must be set to 'no' to use PAM
encrypt passwords = No
update encrypted = No
#allow trusted domains = Yes
min password length = 6
null passwords = No
log level = 10
panic action = "/bin/sleep 90000"
and after having added log level = 10 and the panic action thing, I get the
following error message when connecting to localhost
session setup failed: Call timed out: server did not respond after 20000
milliseconds
in my log files (after havinf readded passwd= to pam.conf) I get:
