I think yes, but let me better explain:

DOM1_PDC-----LAN1------SAMBA------LAN2----DOM2_PDC

There are two domains: DOM1 & DOM2 on two different subnetworks with 2000
Server.
DOM2 users must be auth by DOM2_PDC.
DOM1 users must be auth by SAMBA, because:
- DOM1 & DOM2 admins don't want to trust the two domains;
- DOM2's admin wants to control which and how DOM1 user(s) can access
SAMBA's shares;
- DOM2's admin don't want add DOM1 users to his DOM2_PDC.
