[Samba] Connection Refused

I've installed a samba server on a linux box and testparam and smbclient -L 
localhost both work.
Except when I try to mount (or query with smbclient) this samba share 
across the network it fails
with the error 'Error Connecting to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (Connection refused)'

I have in my hosts.allow all:samba:client

Can somebody help me with this please? Thanks
