Thank you Tiago and Kevin,

Turns out I needed to turn the samba service on!......After restart, I 
was able to get into SWAT no problem.
Hopefully, things will go smoothly from here.  :-)

Bye the way Shane, I guess I didn't download the right Samba package, 
hence the error.  The Redhat Samba rpm installed without any problems.
