[Samba] samba newbie having trouble configuring samba on RH7.3...

swat wasn't located in xinetd so I ended up creating it and adding
disable=no line. I don't know if this was necessary but I wasn't able to
find it.

Try this command to enable swat on RedHat:

# chkconfig --level 35 swat on

swat is controlled by xinetd. To start it automatically everytime the
system start do this:

# chkconfig --level 35 xinetd on

To start xinetd manually do this:

# service xinetd start

Finally, check the swat xinetd config file '/etc/xinetd.d/swat'. See if
there is a line that only allows local access and comment it out if your
want to access swat from a browser on a different machine.
