[Samba] Samba 2.2.7 and Offline Files

I have some offline folders on my Win 2K SP3 laptop which when modified
offline will not sync. back to the server. The synchronisation box claims
that access is denied on the server, but even if I open up the file
completely with full rights for anyone (777) it still says the same thing
yet I can access the file on the server from anywhere on the network.

I have googled but found nothing on this subject, the strange thing is that
it did work! However I have applied some MS security patches recently to the
Win 2K laptop which may have conicided with this problem. Has anyone else
experienced this?
