Hi all,

I have the strange effect, that smbclient -L on a machine
OS=[Windows 5.0] Server=[Windows 2000 LAN Manager]
does not show me all shares, even if they are there (checked with a windows
box).
I activated all debug flags with -d A at smbclient, but really the names of
some shares are missing (share names > 12 characters, like
"latest_setup_3.0_internal")

But if I give that name directly on the commandline of smbclient, like
smbclient //eis2k215/latest_setup_3.0_internal -U koller -W ETM
that works perfectly.

Is this a protocol specification which limits the share-names, or is it just a
bug in smbclient ?

Please answer by direct mail, I'm not on the list.
Thanks.

       Some operating systems are called 'user friendly',
             Linux however is 'expert friendly'.
